Position Summary

Success happens here. Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

The Alumni Relations Officer plays a key role in young alumni engagement and is responsible for developing relationships with the College’s Alumni in Residence with a primary focus on the graduating class each year.

Essential Functions:
1. Building relationships with young alumni which facilitate future engagement with the College with the ultimate goal of increasing young alumni participation in the College’s Annual Fund, known as the Fund for Mount Ida
2. Co-Advisor to the Graduating Class
3. Responsible for assisting the Advancement Officer in his/her work with the Ida Club, the College’s Alumni Association Board of Directors, with a specific focus on G.O.L.D. (Graduates of the Last Decade)
4. Responsible for the development of a Student Alumni Association in consultation with the Mustang Involvement Center
5. Key liaison with the offices of Community and Civic Engagement and Student Engagement
6. Responsible for the Advancement Office’s presence on Social Media with an emphasis on young alumni recognition
7. Manages portfolio of young alumni volunteers, including many face-to-face meetings
8. Is an essential member of the Advancement team, and will be called upon to participate in advancement activities which include annual giving, phonathon support and activities with the graduating class
