Position Summary

Success happens here. Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

The Design & Digital Media Department within the School of Design seeks qualified adjunct faculty to teach a variety of courses in the Design program. The department is seeking educators and professionals within the industry experience to teach courses for Fall 2017.

Publication Design I
This course focuses on the more difficult problems involved in producing high-quality work in the publication-design software Adobe InDesign.

Typography Studio II
An advanced studio that tackles more complex typographical problem solving projects by exploring hierarchies and formal compositions using type as an element with the goal of helping students develop a personal typographic voice.

Digital Trio
This course introduces three essential software programs for the visual artist: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. In addition to exploring each program individually, students learn how to integrate them in stages culminating in a final, production-ready document. Designed primarily for first year graphic design students.

Interactive Media
This studio course explores the principles and fundamentals of the leading software applications, for creating rich, interactive content for digital, web, and mobile platforms.
